Job Opportunity: Estate Maintenance Worker

We are looking for a reliable and skilled Maintenance Worker to join our team at our country estate and holiday lodges. If you enjoy variety in your work and take pride in maintaining a high-standard environment, we would love to hear from you!

The Role:
• General repairs and maintenance of holiday lodges and estate buildings.
• Groundskeeping, including lawn care and pathway maintenance.
• Basic plumbing, carpentry, and painting tasks.
• Ensuring all facilities are safe and in excellent condition for our guests.
• Responding to guest maintenance requests promptly.

What We’re Looking For:
• Previous experience in building maintenance or a trade (carpentry, plumbing, etc.).
• A proactive 'can-do' attitude and the ability to work independently.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• A friendly, professional manner when interacting with guests.
• Full driving license required.

Key Responsibilities
• Deliver high-quality cleaning and turn-down services for holiday lodges to ensure a 5-star guest experience.
• Manage laundry and linen changes efficiently between guest stays.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the main estate residence.
• Monitor and restock guest amenities and cleaning supplies.
• Report any maintenance issues or damages promptly.
Requirements
• Previous experience in professional housekeeping or hospitality is preferred.
• A keen eye for detail and a high standard of cleanliness.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively during busy changeover periods.
• A discreet, professional, and friendly manner.
• Must have reliable transportation due to our rural location.

Following the fantastic response to our recent Afternoon Tea advertising, we added another date — Sunday 25th October — and we’re delighted to say that this is now almost fully booked too!

We have just a few final places remaining, so if you’ve been thinking about joining us, we recommend booking as soon as possible to avoid missing out.

Enjoy a relaxing afternoon at Penninghame Estate with finger sandwiches, buttermilk scones with clotted cream & jam, sweet and savoury tarts, cakes and pastries, accompanied by your choice of loose-leaf tea or black coffee.

£30 per person or £37.50 per person with a glass of Prosecco. A £10 deposit per person secures your booking.
