Since today is Halloween, we thought it was the perfect time to celebrate Dundee's impact on one of literature's most iconic stories - Frankenstein

In 1812, a teenage Mary Shelley arrived in Dundee to stay with the Baxter family. The dramatic landscapes, wild weather and bleak shores of the River Tay helped fuel her imagination and inspired her earliest writing.

Years later, she would go on to write Frankenstein, one of the world’s most famous Gothic novels.
