The British Open is a hugely eniticpated event, especially when it's held at The Old Course in St Andrews. Accommodation providers & local businesses welcome guests from around the world and it's a fantastic environment in and out of the town.

Things go wrong in hospitality. What matters is how quickly, fairly and professionally you put them right.

Where I think the line gets crossed is when an issue has been properly resolved, but the conversation becomes: “Give me more, refund me more, or it’ll be reflected in my review.”

We absolutely believe in putting genuine problems right. But operators shouldn’t be judged on how much they’re prepared to pay to make a bad review disappear.

We should be measured on how we respond when something goes wrong, not on how much we’re willing to spend to make it go away.
