Storm Boelo really turned up the volume overnight & most of Skye woke up with no power this morning. Counting ourselves lucky to have escaped any serious damage & thinking of those who weren’t as fortunate. Special thanks to the engineers working in awful conditions to restore the power too! The worst seems to have passed but it’s still windy out there, stay safe everyone!

As August arrives, it’s a beautiful time to enjoy the changing light on Skye. The days are still long, but sunrise comes a little later, while the evenings fade just a touch sooner, bringing a subtle shift in the rhythm of the days.

The ever-changing light creates new moods and atmosphere, ensuring no two moments on Skye are ever quite the same.

A wonderful few days on Skye—warm, sunny and with hardly a breath of wind. The breeze has picked back up today, but we’re loving every summery moment, especially evenings that end with sunsets like this 🌅

The heather is beginning to bloom in vivid purple hues & after a few rainy days the island is looking greener than ever, with every hillside bursting with life & colour 🌿

And as for today’s visitors..our magnificent stags aren’t phased by the rain. Whatever the weather, they’re just enjoying life on Skye 🦌

Eight deer, such a majestic sight 🦌🌿 We’re used to our regular visitors making an appearance, but seeing a whole group come down from the hill is something very special. A reminder to pause and appreciate the wild moments right on our doorstep ✨
