✨️It's National Pet day!✨️ 🐈🐰🐹🐕

This is my sidekick Isla, plummer terrier, aged 15, she comes with me on changeover days and supervises!

Actually she likes nothing better than chilling in the sun while I do all the work, then we often have a lovely walk either on one of the great paths surrounding the village or we head to Seaham beach.

Isla celebrated her 15th Birthday last week! So as a birthday treat we had a lovely morning on Seaham Beach, only 20 minute drive away from Old Stone Cottage.
Seaham beach is a great place to find Seaglass and fossils and Hag stones. It also has a great cafe where isla enjoyed a doggy ice cream!

🌸 Happy Mother’s Day! 🌸
To all the brilliant mums out there!

A special mention to to all the incredible mums doing it on their own. 💐

The ones juggling a hundred things at once, running on coffee, determination. The ones who somehow manage to be the chef, referee, taxi driver, counsellor, and bedtime storyteller all in the same day.

Today we’re raising a cup of tea to you you’re doing an amazing job.

We hope you get at least five minutes of peace… and a hot cup of tea that you actually get to finish. ☕❤️

✨️Running a holiday cottage on the side ✔️

Some days I’m juggling shiftwork, doing the school run, guest changovers, mum's taxi, laundry, replying to booking enquiries and wondering if I’ve reheated the same cup of peppermint tea three times. (Hurrah for thermos mugs!)
It’s busy, It’s chaotic, BUT it’s also something I’m really proud of building.
So this International Women’s Day, here’s to all the strong women doing the juggle; work, kids, businesses, life, and all the invisible jobs in between.

And if all this talk of chaos has made you realise you need a break…...... my holiday cottage is always happy to welcome people escaping theirs 😉
