Beachy Head Marathon Weekend - update. ⬇️

IMPORTANT UPDATE⬇️

With Storm Austen forecast to affect the region this weekend, the Beachy Head Marathon organising team is closely monitoring conditions and has comprehensive adverse weather plans in place. These measures will be implemented as required, based on the latest forecasts and prevailing conditions.

Participants may notice some changes to the event, with certain temporary structures being minimised or removed as a precaution. However, the spirit of the marathon remains unchanged, with hundreds of volunteers, charities and supporters coming together to deliver another fantastic event.

All runners will receive a safety briefing on the morning of the event, providing the latest weather information, course updates and key safety messages.

Participants travelling by public transport are advised to check travel information before setting out, as weather-related disruption is possible.

The safety and wellbeing of participants, volunteers, spectators and staff remains our highest priority, and all decisions will be made with public safety at the forefront.

On Tuesday 20th October, seven decades after one family began restoring Belle Tout Lighthouse, their descendants joined its current owners and local dignitaries to celebrate the extraordinary story of a landmark saved for future generations.

Reflecting on his involvement in Belle Tout’s continuing story, David said:

“I feel very privileged to be part of Belle Tout’s amazing history. It is nice to do something different in life; something to be remembered by”.

Their work continues the tradition established by the Cullinan family: recognising the importance of this remarkable building and investing in its future.

Our guests each received a specially commissioned booklet at our 70th Celebration. These are not available to buy.

However, we do have a history of Belle Tout by Rob Wassell available.

This is the first book of its kind to be written specifically about the Belle Tout Lighthouse and includes rarely seen pictures and facts that many people will not be aware of.

The book is printed in full colour A5 format, with 44 pages and 99 pictures. It’s an interesting and captivating tale of one of Britain’s most unique buildings.
