My baby absolutely loves Sing and Sign classes with Natalie. The sessions are wonderfully fun and engaging. It has been a delight to watch my baby not only enjoy the music and activities but also begin to communicate with me using those first simple signs.

This early ability to express their needs has been incredibly rewarding and has undoubtedly reduced frustration for us both. I cannot recommend these classes highly enough for a stimulating and truly beneficial experience.

We started Sing and Sign when my daughter was just 10 weeks old. From the moment we stepped into the classes, we were warmly welcomed, made friends and felt right at home.

Since then we have done Babes, Stage 1 and Stage 2 classes. My daughter has just turned 2 and has a fantastic vocabulary that began with signs and then became words. She also speaks in sentences, signing along to what she is saying. These classes have been fundamental to kick-starting her ability to understand and communicate. They have also given her a love of music and singing and a huge repertoire of songs she knows.

I would recommend Sing and Sign to every new parent. I strongly believe it has been a huge influence on my child's early development.

I often refer to this super signer who came to our classes term after term and was just BRILLIANT! 🙌

Signing was so helpful to him and his family, opening up those lines of communication and increasing his confidence massively 👏

I recently saw mum again and she said he is now such a chatterbox and has a wide vocabulary and so happy ❤️

💙DID YOU JUST SIGN 'MORE'?!!!!! She most certainly did!!

💛How lovely to hear how excited mama is over her little girl's first sign, after just a few weeks of Sing and Sign!

💙It's such an amazing feeling when your little one signs exactly what it is they want/need.

💛Early communication is so important, not only in reducing frustration, but allowing you both to bond and understand each other, a two way process.

Tuesday’s Top Tip 😁… Babies learn so much about communication by observing how the people around them respond to their sounds and body language. And crucially they are motivated to keep trying by any positive reactions! 👏🥰

💙 Chances are your baby will have been understanding your signing for a while, but their own first attempts at signs might not look exactly the same as the one you use. For example, a baby might sign ‘more’ by tapping one hand on the back of the other, or on their arm, or even just by clapping! 👏🏻

💛 The accuracy of their hand shape isn’t what matters at this stage - it’s the effort to communicate that we want to celebrate and encourage! 🎉

If you think your baby has possibly used a sign in context, get excited! Praise them by saying the word and showing the correct sign again 🫶🏻 Be consistent with your signs - their accuracy will come naturally, just like it does with spoken words later on!

💙 Also don’t worry if your baby uses one sign for several words right now - that’s actually quite common. They’ve discovered that signing works to get their message across and so their next step is refining their signs and expanding their vocabulary 🥰

Remember to always:
🌟 Praise any attempts at signing
🌟 Accept any version of the sign
🌟 Consistently model your version so they can refine theirs
…and enjoy those magical moments when your baby communicates something new with you 💕👏🥳
