GARDEN TALKS | Growing Old Roses in a Historic Garden — This Saturday at Salthill House!
Join us this Saturday, June 20th, for a very special rose-themed morning at Salthill House in Donegal, in association with the National Built Heritage Service.
Art historian Dr Marianne O'Kane Boal (President of AICA Ireland & writer for the Irish Arts Review) will explore the symbolism of roses in art, poetry and storytelling, in a talk titled "The Symbolism and Significance of Roses in the History of Art."
Then Elizabeth Temple, who has spent over four decades creating Salthill's stunning 1.3-acre walled garden, will demonstrate how to grow old roses using fresh-cut examples straight from her own gardens. You'll finish with a walk through the gardens and folly overlooking Donegal Bay.
