Our guests will know that our information folders include 15 local walks, ranging from gentle 1-mile strolls to more challenging 10.5-mile hikes. We’re now putting together a new “Great Days Out” collection, and this is one of our favourites.
A visit to The Old Forge in Inverie, Knoydart – the UK’s most remote mainland pub – is an adventure in itself. With no road access, you can either tackle the three-day hike from Glenfinnan or, for a more leisurely journey, catch the ferry from Mallaig.
Knoydart is a truly stunning destination, with spectacular scenery, a village shop and post office, a pottery, and a charming tearoom to explore. We also took the walk out to the Brockett Monument, a landmark that must be a very welcome sight for anyone making the trek on foot!
