Spare a thought for us, stuck under this layer of fog & mist while the rest of the country is bathed in sunshine! Luckily this week’s guests have been coming to Cornwall all their lives so they’re well aware of the Cornish climate! And there’s lots to do whatever the weather - including access to the spa facilities at Fowey Hall!
We have been promised sunshine ALL next week, thank goodness! 😎

Two of my favourite spots for a drink (and food actually, just not in these pics!) and one we can’t wait to try!
First up is This is our favourite spot on a Wednesday evening, in the sunshine, watching the racing! Delicious food too with pop up food nights - tonight’s is Thai!!
Next is A lovely restaurant with a fantastic terrace out the back to sit and watch the world go by on the water!
And opening in July is A fantastic position, right on the waterfront! We can’t wait to visit!

Yesterday’s swim started in beautiful sunshine and ended in pouring rain!!
All the weather in one morning!

It’s been full on here with family and friends so apologies for the lack of posts this week! But we have enjoyed drinks ...

It’s been full on here with family and friends so apologies for the lack of posts this week!
But we have enjoyed drinks on the terrace twice this week!
I think it might be the perfect spot for sundowners!
And then back home to watch the moon come up over Polruan!
And up very early to see a beautiful sunrise!
All before the storm blew through last night!!

We were lucky enough to receive an invitation to a very special event at the Eden Project last night!
A wonderful evening to celebrate their 25th Anniversary at Lady Mary Holborow’s Garden Party!
Set in the stunning Mediterranean bio - delicious food, a glass of and tonic, a string quartet and lots of happy people made for a wonderful atmosphere!

are also launching a lottery this year! A great way to support such an important environmental charity! So check out the website & plan your visit for when you’re next down!

It’s been the most unbelievable week in Fowey this week! Beautiful sunshine but with a lovely sea breeze! We’ve swam every morning and then sat on the beach watching everyone enjoying their holidays! Perfect!
And by the looks of the reviews, everyone has been loving their stays with us too! ☺️ Lots of returning guests recently, which we love, and all planning their stays for next year too!
I better get the 2027 diary up ASAP!

Walking is a huge part of our guest’s holidays at Retreat to Fowey!
These are 3 local, circular walks but you can continue on from Gribbin Head to Polkerris or from Lantic Bay to Polperro to extend them! Check out iwalkcornwall.co.uk for more info, it’s a great site!

And are you following ? He’s hiking the full 1015km SW Coastal Path and his videos are great! Looking forward to seeing him when he reaches our patch!

Are you in Fowey for the Bank Holiday? There are six fabulous private gardens opening as part of the 2026 Secret Garden Event! It’s for two days only - the 25th & 26th of May!
There is jazz, opera, prosecco, teas, cakes and second hand books across the gardens.
So what’s not to love! I can’t wait to visit the gardens and get some inspiration for our little space!
The event raises funds to support our fabulous Du Maurier Literary Festival and you can buy your tickets
