Cumbrian born poet William Wordsworth wrote “The Brothers” after visiting with Samuel Taylor Coleridge, former US president Bill Clinton first proposed to his wife Hilary on the banks of Ennerdale Water, and more recently the valley was one of the filming locations for the Danny Boyle movie, “28 Years Later.”

A huge thank you to Emily for sharing these lovely photos from a special birthday getaway with friends. 🥳🎉

A group of 12 stayed at The Nook and neighbouring Longmoor Farmhouse, making the most of everything the Lake District has to offer. Their days were filled with hiking adventures, wild swimming, beach walks with the dogs and, of course, the occasional cocktail or two! 🍹🐾

Renovated to a high standard The Stables is located on a quiet rural road just west of Ennerdale Water.

There’s a great local pub and community coffee shop a short walk away in Ennerdale Village. 🍺 ☕️

It’s a beautiful place to relax, rest and get away from it all. The views stretch for miles over open countryside and the Lake District fells and there are walks galore on the doorstep! 🥾🥾

Whether you’re seeking adventure and looking to head out exploring on the fells ⛰️ or after something a little less challenging like a walk around beautiful Ennerdale Water, you’re literally spoiled for choice with walks galore on our doorstep! 🤩
And if you fancy a break from cooking after all that exercise you have a choice of two good pubs and an excellent cafe nearby, we’re pleased to say all offer a warm welcome to their doggy visitors.
