We wanted to share some bittersweet news with you personally. We’ve now completed the sale of Gwyllt Cottages, and our time here has sadly come to an end.
It’s a very emotional moment for us all. Gwyllt has been such a huge part of our lives over the past 12 years, and we feel incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunity to bring the cottages back to life after they stood empty for so long.
More than anything, we’ve loved sharing this very special place with our guests. The peace and tranquillity, the views, and the little pockets of magic that make Anglesey so special — it’s been a real privilege to welcome people here and to know that so many of you have made your own happy memories at Gwyllt. To those of you who have returned over the years, your loyalty and affection for the place have meant more to us than you’ll ever know.
We’ve reached the point where it’s time for my parents to slow down and enjoy a well-earned retirement. Father is approaching 90 and mother is 78, and they’re very much looking forward to a gentler pace of life, pottering about and enjoying the years ahead without the responsibility of running the cottages.
Although it’s difficult to let go of something that has meant so much to us, we know the time is right.
We’re pleased that the new owners are hoping to continue Gwyllt as holiday cottages. They’re lovely people who plan to spend some time settling in and getting to know the area before hopefully welcoming guests again in the spring. We’re delighted to be passing the baton on to them and wish them every happiness here.
We’d also like to say a heartfelt thank you to Mike and the team at Dafydd Hardy’s Llangefni office for their support throughout the sale. Mike was absolutely superb, guiding us through the process with such kindness, patience and professionalism. He went above and beyond at every stage, helping to ease the stresses along the way and bringing calm and reassurance when we needed it most. We’re incredibly grateful for his hard work, commitment and genuine care in helping us get the sale over the line. It has meant a great deal to us, and we couldn’t let this chapter close without acknowledging that. Diolch o galon, Mike. ❤️
As for us, it’s the closing of a very special chapter. We’ll miss Gwyllt enormously, but we’ll always be grateful for our time here and for all the wonderful people who have been part of its story.
Thank you for choosing to stay with us, for coming back, and for the kindness you’ve shown our little family-run business. It has been an absolute pleasure to welcome you and to share this special corner of Anglesey with you.
We hope that perhaps you’ll be able to return to Gwyllt one day and make more memories under its new ownership.
With our warmest wishes and heartfelt thanks,
Sian, Dennis, Jane & Oscar 🐾 ###
