Thank you to everyone who popped into Wishes fae Girvan today to say hello, check out the new stock, and buy cards and gifts. Your support means everything and made the day a very special one.
A massive thank you to the Girvan and District Pipe Band for playing at our opening this morning - I would have posted a video but my phone decided to behave like an idiot and recorded the road 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️
We'll be back open on Monday at 9.30am 🫶

Yesss 🤩 It's up and it looks just how we dreamt it would 🥰 The sun shone, the wind was calm and everything was perfect.
Our beautiful sign was hand painted by Girvan's brilliant traditional sign writer Jamie MacDonald and a huge thank you to Jamie and his lovely sister Marion for putting it up this morning.
So proud 🫠 just can't stop looking at it 😁
Come and say hello on Saturday 5th from 10am when we open 🫶

Bit difficult to get a good photo with all the mirrored walls, but it's all taking shape at Wishes fae Girvan - more stock arriving tomorrow. In fact, you may start noticing a big difference tomorrow - even from the outside ...

No, not another empty shop! Suzi and I got the keys at 4pm today and have been hard at work already. Opening on Saturday 5th September at 10am - not long now.
Wishes fae Girvan will be selling cards, gifts and home accents. Love to see you there 🤗

Stock beginning to arrive ready for Wishes fae Girvan opening on 5th September, so Suzi and I had a day off from the changeovers and the laundry and spent the afternoon unpacking.
Here's a sneaky peak - hope you like it.
Just a small selection from four of our new suppliers - all UK based and the vast majority of their products are actually made in the UK.

Epic Sky Media have made some fantastic short films - saw one at the Girvan Arts Festival. Well worth going to see. I can guarantee the discussion afterwards will be really interesting and informative.

During the Festival, we are delighted to be bringing you not one, but TWO Film Premieres!

Friday 28th August at 2pm
Premiere of the Children’s Smuggling Film “Shadows of the Shore”
Venue: Ballantrae Primary School, The Vennel, Ballantrae
The film has been made by the children of Ballantrae Primary School based on their Smuggling Story Book “The Mystery of Ballantrae - Our Smuggling Tales”. Copies of the book will be available at £5 per copy, proceeds to school funds.

Sunday 30th August at 2pm Premiere of the film “Ballantrae’s Smuggling Story” followed by a conversation “Our Creative Journey”
Venue: Community Hall, Main Street, Ballantrae
After the showing of the film Alan Jeans of Girvan Arts Festival will lead a conversation about the creation of the film with Frances Wilkins (author and social historian), Andy McAlpine (Ballantrae History Group and Smugglers Festival), Craig Bradshaw and Rodger Hunter (Epic Sky Media).
This event is sponsored by the Ballantrae History Group.

Thereafter we’ll close the Festival with refreshments and the raffle draw for items from the Contraband Hamper.
