Force Cafe in Ambleside is another favourite of ours. It's a regular stop when in Ambleside whether it be for brunch, lunch or just coffee & cake. We've been going since it opened in the summer of 2023 and only discovered it by chance when taking a walk around Stock Gyhll Force waterfalls. It's in a fantastic location with great views, just a 15 minute walk (uphill) from the town centre and open every day. Would recommend visiting the waterfalls if you venture this way.

If you're visiting Hawkshead this little gem is just 5 minutes away located on the shore of Esthwaite Water.....the Boathouse Cafe (LA22 0QF).
It's a regular cycling coffee stop for us.
Great food, drinks, service and a fantastic location.
If you're driving, the car park is just a 2 minute walk along the shore footpath.
It's open Wed~Sun, 9am~4pm with Pizza's available on Saturday's. There's both indoor and outdoor seating.
If you have the time there are Self Drive Electric Boats available to hire and with a little bit of luck you may get to see the nesting Osprey's catching fish.
