An adventure straight from your shepherd hut…..
After checking the stock on the farm we walked up Ingleby Incline this morning, something our guests can do without even getting in the car.
It’s certainly a climb, but the views from the top are incredible and there’s so much history beneath your feet.
Built in 1861, the incline was used to transport ironstone from the Rosedale mines. At its steepest it reaches 1 in 5, with loaded wagons travelling down under gravity and pulling the empty ones back up by cable.
Today it makes for a brilliant walk up onto the North York Moors, with some pretty amazing views along the way.
And after the walk …. Back to your shepherd hut, boots off and straight into your private hot tub.
One of the many reasons we love where we are.
We recommend a 6 mile loop walk that takes in Ingleby Incline but we were short of time today so just went to the summit and back down.
