Mill Farm Eco Barns beautifully converted, stylish 4 and 1 bedroom eco holiday barns on the outskirts of the lovely village of winterton-on-sea in East Norfolk. Our Eco barn is a spacious open plan living, 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms. The Hay Barn has1 double bedroom, living/kithchen dinner and a shower WC. free ranging chickens, free bikes and wonderful surroundings make this a perfect place to spend time with family and friends. Wonderful sandy beach and dunes only 10 minutes walk away.

Fancy a walk and a pint? 🍺🔥

The Nelson Head in Horsey is our favourite stop after seeing the seals. Do the circular walk from Horsey Mere to the beach and back, or just the shorter stroll to the colony, then thaw out by the roaring fire with a good b**r and proper food. Dogs are welcome too. 🐾

It's ten minutes from the barns, and it's in our guide for everyone who stays.

Seal season is nearly here, and we have three November weekends left in the Threshing Barn: the 6th, 13th and 20th.

It sleeps 8 with 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, dogs are welcome, and for Friends of Mill Farm it's £750 for 2–3 nights (usually £850).

We have some availability in our Grain barn (sleeps 4) and Hay (sleeps 2) too

What happens after the seals? 🏓🎱

You walk back across the dunes with cold cheeks, light the wood burner, and someone challenges someone to pool. The games barn has pool and table tennis, plus giant Jenga and our CD collection from the 90s and 2000s, which gets more use than you'd think.

Seal watching by day, tournament by night. The Threshing Barn sleeps 8, so there's room for the whole team.

✨ Honk honk! The pink-footed geese are back. ✨

Every morning their calls fill the sky as they fly over the barns, heading out to the fields around us. They've come all the way from Iceland and Greenland to spend the winter in Norfolk, and at dawn and dusk the sky is full of them.

It never gets old. A bit of wildlife magic right on the doorstep, and the seals aren't far behind. 🦭💛

🦭 "Perfect base for our group trip to seal watch this winter."

Some photos stop you in your tracks. This is one of them. 🌈🦭

A grey seal on our stretch of the Norfolk coast, sand blowing, storm clearing, rainbow overhead. Taken by the brilliant Sean Weekly, and it sums up winter here better than I ever could.

Seal season is about to begin. Over the coming weeks thousands of grey seals come ashore between Winterton and Horsey to have their pups, and you can walk to see them from Mill Farm.

So this November we're offering seal watching weekends in the Threshing Barn. It sleeps 8, with 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a wood burner, the games barn for the evenings and a welcome hamper on the table. Dogs are welcome too.

We have three November weekends left: the 6th, 13th and 20th. As a last-minute break for Friends of Mill Farm, it's £750 for 2–3 nights (usually £850). Just mention this post when you get in touch.

This is what a November weekend looks like here. 🦭

Tiny white pups asleep on the sand. A whole beach of grey seals, as far as u happen.

The best part is that you can walk there from the barn. Head out across the dunes in that low winter light, spend as long as you like with the colony (the volunteer wardens will show you the best spots and keep the pups safe), then wander home.

Home being the Threshing Barn: boots off, wood burner lit, hamper open, eight of you round the table arguing about who saw the most pups.

A note from the seal wardens: please watch from the dune paths and roped viewing areas, keep well back from the seals, and keep dogs on leads at all times. 🐾

🦭 They're coming.

From November, grey seal pups arrive on the Norfolk coast — and from the Threshing Barn at Mill Farm, you're right on the doorstep.

Walk to the beach. Watch the pups. Come home to a wood burner.

Saturday in Norfolk. 🌞

Swam with seals, cycled the lanes, ended with pizza. Not a bad day off.
