✨ Stepping into Christmas with Gorleston’s Christmas lights switch on!

⏰ Starting at 12pm

Bring the family along for a day of festive fun, with Christmas market stalls, a variety of food and drinks, funfair rides and a chance to meet Minnie and Mickey Mouse! The Christmas lights and tree will be switched on at 5pm, followed by a fireworks display at 6pm.

There will also be an Elf Trail to take part in, look out for letters in shop windows around Gorleston to piece together the secret word. Crack the code to receive a sweet treat and be entered into a free prize draw!
Make sure to save the date and join us to kick-start the festive season. 🎄

🎃 Get creative at our pumpkin decorating event!

We’re hosting a free pumpkin decorating event for all the family to enjoy this October half-term. Come along to Great Yarmouth town centre and decorate your very own pumpkin to take home, ready for Halloween!

📅 Thursday 29 October
⏰ 10.30am to 2pm
📍 Great Yarmouth Covered Market

Pumpkins will be provided on a first come first serve basis.

Once you’re home, you can continue the creativity by using the insides to make a delicious pumpkin soup or pumpkin pie.

🦇 We spotted our first poster of the Great Yarmouth Town Centre Partnership Halloween window trail!

There are some Spooky goings on in Great Yarmouth town centre this October half-term. Local shops and businesses have been busy decorating their windows for the most scary time of year and to take part in the Halloween Window Trail. Between 23rd and 31st October, visit the town centre to complete the trail and be in for a chance to win £250 of shopping vouchers.
How to take part:

🍬 Collect a form from any of the shops taking part in the Halloween Window Trail – they will be displaying a poster like the one shown above.
🐈‍⬛ Check off each of the window displays against the list, don’t forget to vote your favourite and scariest display!
🎃 Once completed, leave the form with one of the stores taking part, or email the form to [email protected] by 6th November.

Your help is needed to decide which window has the best Halloween display. The most voted for window will be awarded a special prize at this year’s Civic Society Great Yarmouth town centre awards being held in November.

🎯 The Visit Great Yarmouth Festival of Bowls is back! 🎯

What better way to kickstart the Bank Holiday weekend than with some fantastic bowls action on the Great Yarmouth seafront? 🌊☀️

Bowlers from across the UK are heading to Great Yarmouth for the 79th Visit Great Yarmouth Festival of Bowls, which gets underway this Sunday, 30 August.

With more than 800 competitors taking part across a packed programme of men's, ladies, mixed and junior tournaments, there’s plenty to look forward to! 🏆

From singles and pairs to triples and fours, players of all abilities will be battling it out for trophies, prize money and, of course, bragging rights! 👏

But it’s not just about the competition – the festival is a fantastic celebration of bowls, bringing players, families and spectators together while showcasing everything Great Yarmouth has to offer.

The festival runs from 30 August to 26 September, so why not head down to the seafront, soak up the atmosphere and support the competitors?

🚛💛 THE EAST COAST TRUCKER CHILDREN’S CONVOY IS BACK THIS SUNDAY! 💛🚛

Get ready to see the roads come alive as more than 80 trucks take part in the 39th East Coast Truckers Children’s Convoy on Bank Holiday Sunday, 30 August!

The convoy is all about supporting an incredible cause — bringing fun, smiles and unforgettable memories to children with life-limiting and terminal conditions across Norfolk. ❤️

👏 It’s fantastic to see so many drivers, volunteers and supporters coming together once again to make a real difference.

📍 Please be aware of the convoy route: the trucks will travel through a number of locations across Norfolk throughout the day, with police motorcycle escorts helping the convoy safely on its journey.

If you're travelling on Sunday, please check the route and timings in advance and allow extra time for your journey where necessary.

⛵✨ The Mayor officially welcomed the magnificent Nao Victoria to Great Yarmouth! ✨⛵

This week, the Mayor of Great Yarmouth was delighted to officially open the Nao Victoria exhibition, welcoming visitors aboard and presenting the crew with the Great Yarmouth Borough Council crest to mark the ship's visit to our borough.

The Nao Victoria is a stunning full-sized replica of the first ship to successfully circumnavigate the globe over 500 years ago. Now a floating museum, the vessel offers a fascinating opportunity to step back in time and discover what life was like for the sailors who completed one of history's greatest maritime voyages.

⚓ The Nao Victoria will be open on South Quay until Sunday 9 August
🕙 Opening times: 10am–8pm daily
