In between doing some regular maintenance work, we found time to enjoy a lovely 7km walk last week. We parked at the Beccles Quay car park and enjoyed the quiet footpaths along the river, finishing with drinks and ice cream at the Quay Cafe. Very dog friendly too.

Only 25 mins drive from Halesworth.

Last month we had a family of 7 adults, a 3 year old, a 7 month old and their dog to stay. Their entry is our guest book reads:

Lovely, relaxed week at River Lane. Spacious, comfy and really well- equipped and thought out.
Would recommend walking to the Taproom in Halesworth for drinks & yummy food and Southwold for the Sole Bay Fish Company.
We enjoyed a day at Framlingham Castle and the town, and lunch & beers at The Crown.
Would return to this lovely house. Thanks.

Despite the very hot summer, the front garden still looks very green.

Thank you to our recent guests from Kent for leaving such lovely comments in the Visitors’ Book:

We had the most wonderful stay in your lovely house, which was just the perfect size for the seven of us, plus our pup!
Several lovely days out, including a few trips to Southwold to the beach and fish & chips, and the amazing Queens Head pub in Bramfield (highly recommend)!
Gorgeous cottage and beautiful area, would absolutely stay again!

There are always maintenance jobs to be done at the cottage and some are definitely easier when the sun is shining.
Over the past few days we have repainted the garden furniture in the front garden, sanded and varnished the kitchen table, cleaned the carpets and had a really good tidy up
of the back yard! 😮‍💨
Of course we always like to make sure that we are well stocked with guest essentials such as tea/coffee, hand soap and toilet rolls.
After all that work it was definitely time for a beach trip to enjoy the gorgeous weather.
