Welcome to the Ulbster Arms Hotel, situated in the village of Halkirk, on the banks of the River Thurso was once a Sinclair family home and has been a comfortable retreat for holiday guests, NC500 venturers, shooting, fishing and corporate guests for over 150 years. Just a couple of miles off the beaten track, the Ulbster Arms Hotel is the perfect detour destination to create your own NC500 adventure. While UAH has everything you’d expect in a modern busy hotel, it still retains its unique Highland charm and unashamedly traditional character. Our team of friendly local staff always endeavor to make a visit to the Ulbster Arms Hotel memorable while serving you delicious locally sourced dishes that’ll make you want to visit again & again. Our hotel offers a Library area to sit and relax in after a busy day, bedrooms & public areas with free wi-fi connectivity, as well as spacious working areas for those who just cannot get away from it all.

𝐀𝐒 𝐈𝐅 we are daring to speak about Christmas already 🤐🦃

After a few dozen phone calls, it has come to our attention that some of you are 𝒅𝒚𝒊𝒏𝒈 to know our Christmas menu and opening times this December... and we love it! 🤭

Some dates for the diary 📖

✨Our Christmas & December Menu will be posted on our socials in October & we are currently taking bookings for your December nights out 💃🏼

✨Christmas Eve meal service will be from 12pm - 6pm, with last seatings at 5:45pm - The hotel will then be closed at 8pm so the staff can run home just in time for Santa coming 🎅🏼

✨ We will be closed from Christmas Day until January 2027 (Date TBC) to allow our staff a well deserved rest after a very busy year! 💖
