Admiring the landscape 🌳

There’s more to these beautiful views than meets the eye. Around 1785, renowned landscape designer Humphry Repton helped shape the estate, carefully creating sweeping avenues, picturesque views and striking focal points, including the lake.

One of his clever design features was the hidden ‘ha-ha’ – a six-foot ditch that kept deer away from the formal gardens without interrupting the views from the House.

From the Cedar Avenue leading towards Rudding Dower to the open parkland that now makes such wonderful golf fairways, Repton’s influence can still be admired across the estate today.

A landscape designed to be enjoyed, over 240 years later.
