We're celebrating Pride here at Pet4People!!🌈

This month is all about celebrating diversity, acceptance, and being proud of who you are! Today our young people created a Pride wall for our office, before taking part in a Pride photoshoot of some of our animals.

Why do we support Pride? 🌈

At Pets4People, we believe every young person deserves to feel safe, valued, respected, and free to be themselves. Pride is a celebration, but it is also a reminder that many LGBTQIA+ people still face discrimination, exclusion, and barriers to equality. Pride continues to be important because visibility, acceptance, and understanding changes and saves lives.

Did you know that diversity exists throughout the animal kingdom too?

🌈 Same-s*x relationships and pair bonding have been observed in hundreds of animal species, including lions, dolphins, penguins, swans, giraffes, and bonobos.

🌈 Some penguin pairs of the same s*x have even formed long-term bonds and helped raise chicks together.

🌈 Bottlenose dolphins are known to form strong same-s*x social and affectionate partnerships.

🌈 Inters*x traits (where an individual displays a combination of s*x characteristics) have been documented in many species, including butterflies, birds, fish, and crustaceans.

Nature is wonderfully complex and reminds us that diversity is a natural part of life. Same-s*x behaviour has been documented in hundreds of species, while prejudice against it is uniquely human.

At Pets4People, we are passionate about providing animal-assisted therapy, support, and education for children and adults with social, emotional, and mental health needs and/or disabilities. We truly love what we do, and every day we have the privilege of working alongside incredible clients, families, and of course, our amazing animals!

Pets4People provides therapeutic services for children and adults with disabilities and/or social, emotional, and mental health needs.

We offer 1:1 sessions, groups, workshops, community sessions, home education (AQA) sessions, and much more.

Sessions can take place in your home, school, workplace, or community setting. You can also join us at one of our designated Pets4People locations or outdoor learning spaces!

Expensive, but worth it 👀

Yesterday we spent a gorgeous day on the farm bonding with and feeding the animals, soaking up the sunshine and getting creative with story writing for The National Year of Reading 2026.

The sheep especially captured our young people's imaginations, inspiring them to write their own stories filled with adventure, friendship, and farmyard fun. It was wonderful to see creativity come to life, surrounded by nature!

With the warmer weather arriving, some of our cold-blooded friends have been able to make the most of it too. Quartz, the reticulated python, has been enjoying a well-deserved swim this weekend - and he's been having a ssssssmashing time!
