Back in the office after a couple of weeks away, and a big thank-you to the team for keeping everything running at Seaview while I was off enjoying myself.

I’m hoping nobody noticed I’d gone. Although that might say rather more about how well they manage without me… 😊

The car deserves a holiday too.

With Broad Haven beach just across the road from Seaview, a walk by the sea doesn’t need a packed boot, a satnav or a discussion about who’s driving.

There’s plenty of Pembrokeshire to explore further afield, of course. But some days, it’s lovely to leave the keys behind and see where your feet take you.

Packing for Pembrokeshire: something for sunshine, something for rain, something for wind… and the jumper you end up wearing all week. 🧳

One thing you can leave at home when you stay at Seaview: bath and hand towels. We provide those, and the beds are made ready too.

That leaves a little more room for the important things. Like three extra outfits that may never leave the suitcase.

I recently enjoyed what I’m calling an enforced digital detox. 📵😄

My phone died while I was away… and then, having apparently decided I needed teaching a lesson, refused to reconnect me to the outside world.

There was a brief period of mild panic.

No emails.
No messages.
No social media.
No checking what was happening back home every five minutes. 😳

And then something very odd happened…

I started looking out of the window instead. 👀
I had proper conversations.
I sat and watched the world go by.
And somehow, despite my absence from the internet, civilisation continued. 😂

It did make me think there’s quite a lot to be said for a holiday where the biggest decision is whether to go for a walk, head to the beach or put the kettle on. ☕🌊

I’m not quite ready to throw my phone in the sea just yet, but I may have learned something.
