A good reason to leave the car behind!

One of the joys of staying at Abercastle is how much you can do without getting back in the car.

The harbour is just a short walk from the campsite, where you can launch a kayak or paddleboard, explore the coastline or simply sit and watch the boats.

If you fancy stretching your legs, the Pembrokeshire Coast Path is right on the doorstep, with wonderful walks in either direction.

And after a day out exploring, it’s only a short walk back to your pitch for a well-earned cuppa, or perhaps something a little stronger!

There’s nothing worse than arriving at a campsite and finding you’re practically on top of your neighbours!

Here at Abercastle, we’ve only got 12 pitches, so there’s plenty of room to spread out, put up your awning, get the chairs out and make yourselves at home.

Each pitch has its own picnic table, fire pit and water tap, with electric hook-up available if you need it.

And, of course, dogs are very welcome, at no extra charge.

A little more space to call your own.

With just 12 pitches at Abercastle Campsite, we’ve never been interested in squeezing in as many campers as possible.

We like to give everyone room to spread out, enjoy a bit of privacy and make themselves at home.

Each pitch has its own picnic table, fire pit and water supply, with electric hook-up available if you need it. And, of course, dogs are very welcome at no extra charge.

There’s no clubhouse or evening entertainment, unless you count watching the sun go down over the harbour.

Just a small, peaceful campsite on the beautiful Pembrokeshire coast, with plenty to explore right on the doorstep.

Thankfully Storm Austen has been kind to us with some lovely light yesterday evening down at Abercastle beach.

There were some spectacular skies coming in from the storm. We hope everyone else is safe from the first named storm of the year.

Friday evening at Abercastle

Another week draws to a close, and although the campsite is now closed for the season, there’s still plenty happening around Abercastle.

Autumn has certainly arrived. The evenings are getting darker, the weather is keeping us guessing, and the harbour is looking quite different from those long summer evenings.

It’s a lovely time of year to be here, even if we’re swapping evenings around the fire pits for evenings indoors!

And while we’re enjoying a quieter few months, we’re already looking forward to welcoming campers back in the spring.

Just a short drive from the campsite!

Exploring the little lanes and villages around Abercastle is a real pleasure when you stay here.

You don’t have to go far to find a quiet country lane, a lovely stretch of coastline or a village you’ve never visited before.

And even if you’ve been coming to Pembrokeshire for years, there’s usually somewhere new to discover.

The evenings are drawing in at Abercastle, and autumn is well and truly here.

The campsite may be closed for the season, but the harbour, coast path and little lanes around the village are just as lovely at this time of year.

We’re already looking forward to welcoming campers back in the spring, and bookings for 2027 are open.

If you’ve stayed with us before, we’d love to see you again. And if you haven’t, perhaps next year will be your first visit!
