It’s been a long, drizzly, mizzly, muddy sort of winter here, but up in the woods there are signs of change. The robins are singing their hearts out, the hazels are covered in catkins and the hawthorn is just thinking about coming into leaf. And, as all year round, there are mosses and lichens galore. Spring really is coming!

With temperatures around freezing, the Dunsdon chicks have been enjoying dishes of warm mash this morning. Our six girls are all originally from Holsworthy Fresh Start for Hens, although Omo (far right) and Daz came to us on permanent loan from Ali's Laundry as companions for our late hen Susan.
