Birch Farm, Woolsery, produces food using natural farming methods for The Collective at Woolsery which includes the local shop, J. Andrew and The Farmers Arms Woolsery. Unique gifts can be purchased at the shop and there is a special Birch Farm menu at the pub. Birch Farm also runs events and courses throughout the year.

Woolsery/Woolfardisworthy is approximately 25 minutes from Dilly Dally Barn.

Some of the interesting historic houses in the area that are open to the public.

Arlington Court - National Trust is a Regency House with a very interesting collection of treasures from all over the world. In the stables is The Carriage Museum and there are also gardens and 20 miles of footpaths to explore.

Castle Drogo-National Trust is a 20th century innovative family home designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens. There are also gardens and miles of pathways in the Teign Gorge.

Hartland Abbey and Gardens was built in the 12th century and remained as a monastery for 400 years until Dissolved by Henry VIII. Now a private house, it contains collections of porcelain, pictures and furniture accumulated over many generations. The estate has often been used as a filming location. It also has gardens and a walk to the sea.

Lanhydrock National Trust is a Jacobean House that was badly damaged by fire in 1881 and refurbished in high-Victorian style. Again there are gardens and walks across the estate including tranquil riverside paths.

Pencarrow House & Gardens is a Cornish Georgian family home which has been owned by the same family for almost 500 years. There is also a Grade II listed garden and Iron Age Fort.

Great Torrington is an historic town with links to the Civil War. It has many attractions including Torrington Museum that tells the story of this period and others important to the history of the town.

Dartington Crystal Visitor Experience & Pavilion Café is also a fascinating place to visit as Monday to Friday you can watch glassmakers in action on the factory floor.

Torrington Pannier Market and Arcade's shops are open Monday to Saturday and the pannier market is open Friday and Saturday.

The Plough Arts Centre, Torrington performing arts theatre, cinema and café is in the centre of the town and often hosts art exhibitions as well.

Tarka Valley Railway TVR CIO has a shop and visitor centre which is open on Thursdays. It plans to slowly reinstate the London and South Western Railway between Torrington and Bideford. Currently it runs some special events throughout the year. Bikes can be hired from Torrington Cycle Hire Ltd and The Tarka Trail can be cycled along from the station yard. Puffing Billy Cafe Torrington is also nearby.

Tarka The Otter Comes To Town Adventure Trail - Great Torrington is an outdoor trail of wooden animal carvings around beautiful parts of the town.

RHS Garden Rosemoor is a 65 acre garden close to the town and hosts many events throughout the year.

Times for this Sundays carvery are from 12pm until 8pm.

The meats for this Sunday (13th September) are our slow cooked beef brisket or roasted loin of pork with crackling with a selection of vegetables from our carvery unit along with roast potatoes, stuffing & Yorkshire puddings.

Choice of 2 desserts or Farmer Toms Ice cream pots.

Traditional trifle topped with toasted almonds.

Warm Pecan tart with vanilla ice cream & maple syrup.
