It’s Fire Risk Assessment time again. A legal obligation that we take very seriously. Making sure both our cottages are compliant takes care and effort. Boilers serviced, chimneys swept, PAT testing, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors checked and logged before every guest are just a few of the things we have to do to make sure our guests are safe.
It’s amazing how many self catering properties haven’t completed a fire risk assessment or even bothered to add a carbon monoxide or smoke detector. You can happily book a cottage through any number of platforms that don’t do their due diligence and ask for proof of compliance. However, if the worse happened and there was a fire, their personal liability insurance would be invalid. Personally, I need the peace of mind that our guests are safe.
