An early start certainly paid off for Mark!

A lovely carp from our Top Lake, estimated at around 18lb, caught in the early morning before the heat of the day arrived.

Mark tempted this one using Krill and Cali wafter hookbaits over freebies – a great result and a cracking fish.

Thanks for sharing your catch with us, Mark, and we’re so pleased you enjoyed another lovely break at Lakeview Manor. Hopefully we’ll see you – and the rods – back again soon!

Our latest Otter update has arrived, and this lovely boy has been making fantastic progress.

Otter is our sponsored puppy with Hearing Dogs for Deaf People and has now reached the 12 month stage of his training journey.

His volunteer puppy trainer describes him as a beautiful, loving and funny character who has become a much loved member of the family. His favourite things include cuddles, tummy tickles, beach runs, mealtimes and, perhaps less helpfully, digging holes in the garden!

Behind the puppy fun, Otter has been working hard. He has completed his Puppy Two Star award and is now concentrating on Puppy Three Star, as well as beginning the all important sound work that will form part of his future hearing dog skills.

His trainer says Otter continues to make excellent progress and is a delight to work with, describing him as inquisitive, enthusiastic and highly motivated to learn.

We’re incredibly proud to support Hearing Dogs for Deaf People across our resorts, with £5 donated for every dog included on a holiday booking.

Keep going, Otter. We’re loving following your journey!

One of the best things about an escape to this part of Devon is just how easy it is to get out into the countryside.

Enjoy peaceful walks around Lakeview Manor before heading further afield to discover woodland trails, quiet country routes and some beautiful corners of Devon nearby.

Then back to the Manor for a drink and a well-earned rest.

That sounds like a good day to us.
