One of the lovely things about staying at Meadow Falls is just how much there is to explore around us. ❤️

Some places are only a short trip away, others need your walking boots and a little more time, but there's always somewhere new to discover.

From caves and curious landmarks to big views and hidden corners of the Dales, we've picked out ten places to add to your list.

And this is just the start!

How many of these have you already ticked off?

And which one has just made it onto your list? 👀

Save this for your next visit, and if there are still a few to explore, get your next Meadow Falls stay booked in for 2027!

Not sure where to start? Ask us — we're always happy to point you towards your next Dales adventure. ❤️

Today I'm doing *important stuff*.

The kind of stuff that brings me absolutely no joy, pleasure or even a little reward. 😂

If you're self-employed and have ever filed your own VAT return, you'll know exactly what I mean.

There's no gold star at the end. No little certificate saying well done. Certainly no bottle of ch*****ne to pop in celebration.

Just the joy of discovering the cost of running a business at the end of it.

So, when it's all done and dusted this afternoon, I'm going to put the paperwork to one side and plan something special.

Something that brings me joy.
Something to look forward to.
Something that makes all the hard work feel worthwhile.

Because sometimes, when you're busy working, running a business and getting through the endless to-do list, the days can just roll into one another.

And before you know it, you've spent all your time working towards something without actually stopping to enjoy the rewards.

So here's your little reminder (and mine!) that we deserve something to look forward to, too.

A weekend away. A walk somewhere beautiful. A cosy night by the fire. Or simply a day with absolutely nothing on the to-do list.

**What are you going to do for yourself this week?**

And if a little countryside escape is just what you need, we'd love to welcome you to Meadow Falls. ❤️

Fancy doing something a little different this October half term? 👻

We're rather lucky to have some fascinating places to explore around Ingleton, including a few that are perfect for anyone who loves a bit of underground adventure.

🧙‍♀️ White Scar Cave — look out for the Witch's Fingers… although you might find they're already getting ready for Christmas!

🏰 Ingleborough Cave — and on the walk there, keep an eye out for the Grotto. There's also the Mimpish Squimbies trail for little explorers.

🔦 Storrs Cave — one I've explored myself, and you might even find a geocache. It's not a show cave, though, so please stick to permitted, accessible areas and leave the deeper passages to experienced cavers.

And then there's Yordas Cave, which you might remember from my recent exploring Reel.

These aren't all managed attractions, so do check opening times, access and conditions before setting off. Safety matters more than a spooky selfie!

Staying at Meadow Falls for half term?

- Ask us for more details,
- Save this for a day of exploring, then come back to your pod and put your feet up. ❤️

One of the things I love about October…

it gets dark earlier. ✨

Which means you don't have to stay up ridiculously late to look up and see the stars.

We're very lucky to be in the Yorkshire Dales International Dark Sky Reserve, with some of the darkest skies in the country.

And later this month, the Dark Skies Fringe Festival is coming to the Dales, running from 23 October to 1 November. There are all sorts of ways to get out and enjoy the night sky.

Here at Meadow Falls, we're doing our bit to let the stars have centre stage.

And because walking around in the dark is slightly less appealing when you can't see where your feet are going… we'll have red torches available for guests too. ❤️

So pack your warmest layers, make yourself a hot drink and don't forget to look up.

The sky might just be the most magical bit of October.
