It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the sad news of the passing of Andy Ashley our much-loved “Big Lover.” ❤️
Andy was a huge man in every sense of the word, but it was his massive personality, warmth, humour and presence that made him so unforgettable.
A much-loved member of the Dougarie Estate team and a familiar face to so many of our guests, community and beyond. Andy brought his own unique energy (!) wherever he went. He was one of those people who simply couldn’t be missed - and his laughter was completely infectious.
Taken far too early, Andy will be hugely missed, but never forgotten. 💔
Andy’s Funeral — Tuesday 8th September
Andy’s family would like to invite everyone who knew and loved Andy to join them in celebrating his life, and what would have been his 70th birthday. 🕊️🎉
We will gather at The Dougarie Boathouse, Arran - Wedding & Events at 10am for a service of remembrance.
We will then make our way to Kilmory Cemetery for 11am for the graveside service.
Following the service, we will return to The Dougarie Boathouse, Arran - Wedding & Events for Andy’s wake and birthday celebrations.
Andy loved his kilt, and whenever he wore it, he felt his best. His family would therefore love anyone who has a kilt, military dress or something tartan to wear it in his memory. ❤️
Transport has been arranged from Dougarie Boathouse to Kilmory Cemetery and back for those who require it.
There will also be a bus leaving Dougarie Boathouse at 8pm, travelling around the Southend.
No flowers, please. Donations in Andy’s memory to the Scottish Charity Air Ambulance would be greatly appreciated.
