The dog-friendliest holiday cottage, with secure garden, 3 acre dog field, log burner & hot tub (just for the humans!) Unlimited dogs welcomed!

Babbling Brook Cottage is a pretty converted stone barn offering dog friendly self catering accommodation. Located in the Teifi Valley in West Wales, close to the small town of Lampeter, 20 mins from the picture postcard harbour town of Aberaeron and 30 mins from the gorgeous beaches of Cardigan Bay. The cottage has a pretty bedroom with double bed, a shower room, well-equipped kitchen with electric range and gas oven and hob, and a stunning lounge with vaulted ceiling with wood-burner, and two single beds, so the cottage can sleep up to 4 people. In the garden you'll find a hot tub in the undercover seating area, and a barbeque for the adventurous outdoor cook. We are dog friendly, and do not limit the number of dogs you can bring provided you can manage them! There is a 3 acre secure field for your dog(s) to explore (under your supervision) and a secure garden and outside seating area for you to soak up the stunning sunsets. Prices range from £120- £150 per night depending on season. Your host is an APDT qualified dog trainer, and sessions are available if you would like to book some training time during your stay. This could include fun and games, recall, lead walking, fun gundog skills, settle etc.

Winners!! We have just found out that we are the recipients of the 'Best Dog-Friendly Holiday Cottage' award in the Welsh Enterprise Awards 2026. It's lovely to be honoured in this way, although the feedback we get from our customers is testament to the focus and care we give to dog staying with us. In true Award Ceremony style, we've prepared a little speech...

We'd like to thank our families, friends, Jason our electrician who did the PAT testing, Brynmôr who trims the hedges with his tractor, the staff who service the hot tub, the team who sweep the chimneys, Chas for putting up the lovely new fence in the field, and anyone else who knows us, but mostly we'd like to say thank you to all our customers for telling us what they like about the cottage, and what little tweaks we can add to make it even better... THANK YOU all for your support.
Diolch yn fawr iawn!

We always have a great time when we go to the beach. 🦭
It's a kilometre and a quarter of dog-friendly, sandy beach just 30 minutes away, so we go quite often ,and at low tide there's loads of space for the hoards of people (we counted 12!) that we saw on the beach, but the most exciting bit of this trip was this little seal who popped up to say hi! What a treat! 🦭

All done! We finished painting the kitchen, hall, bathroom and bedroom and it’s all looking great, as is the newly painted front door. We also picked up a couple of new lovely new prints by local artist Lizzie Spikes- Driftwood Designs, showing the Aberaeron harbour at night. You can visit her shop near the harbour there.

The cottage is closed this week for maintenance and we’re busy doing lots of little jobs too, but the biggest job is redecorating the bedroom bathroom hallway and kitchen.

Painting is going well and it’ll be looking fresh and you for our guest arriving on Monday!

We are delighted to announce that this week we have completed the biggest project for Babbling Brook Cottage this year - upgrading the fencing for the dog field.

We've always wanted to separate the public footpath from the secure dog field, and now we're pleased to announce that this work is complete. If you aren't worried about the occasional walker passing through then you can leave the two gates open and use the whole field, but if you'd like to be sure you won't come nose to nose with another dog, then you can close the gates and enjoy a completely secure, private dog field.

The field is just a short walk from the cottage, and is all yours to enjoy anytime during your stay, If you'd like to take a closer look at the field, and the stunning valley view from the top, then please enjoy the quad bike tour of the field,!

A particularly pretty ‘dragon’s breath’ in the valley this morning! This is the view from the hot tub!

Taking the opportunity to enjoy an early morning walk before it gets too hot at one of the places we recommend to guests. The riverside walk from Aberaeron to Llanerchaeron. It’s a lovely shady walk for the most part and the cafe at Llanerchaeron is a bonus, plus the dogs enjoy a paddle in what’s left of the river!!

*Sound on for beach vibes and waves!*
A lovely evening stroll with the dogs along the coast path from Aberaeron towards New Quay. No dolphins 🐬 tonight. Maybe next time!
Chippy tea overlooking the beach, maybe an ice cream or a b**r before we head home for the evening.
