Boskins Barn

Boskins Barn Boskins Barn and cookery school is nestled under Clougha Pike with views across the valley in the idyllic countryside of the Forest of Bowland.

Foodie extras are available during your stay and look out for our cooking courses on offer throughout the year. I'm Adrienne, owner of Boskins Barn and Cookery school in the beautiful Forest of Bowland. I recently relocated here to be closer to nature and the wonderful British countryside. After renovating the old cattle shed on our farm, we started a holiday let and delivering cookery workshops.

My background is in food and nutrition and I have worked in product development in industry and taught food in schools for many years. I love to cook and use local, natural produce to make delicious and nutritious food to share with family and friends and I enjoy sharing my knowledge and skills with others. So why not indulge in some foodie extras during your stay such as a ready made meal on arrival, a breakfast basket, a picnic to take away, an afternoon tea or a cookery workshop tailored to your needs? The choice is yours!

Lancashire cheese and potato pie - the best! Crispy pastry, soft spuds, tasty onions and subtle cheese. Delicious! cooked food

Afternoon tea - my favourite! From quintessential cucumber sandwiches and perfect scones with clotted cream, to light and airy rose cream sponge and delightful meringue kisses what’s not to love? Add in some choc and raspberry brownies, a few strawberries and a heady elderflower spritz and the taste of summer is on your plate! It was all about the flowers today - elderflower and rose along with the seasons first sprigs of lavender. Thanks ladies for making it a special day.

May was all about new beginnings. The blue t**s laid and hatched their eggs and the tiny birds fledged from the nest box 🪺 the Herdies returned from lambing and are now ‘hefting’ to our land with their young ones 🐑 and the bees produced multiple queen cells allowing us to create new colonies🐝

I am happy to share that our little blue tit laid nine eggs in our nest box, one each day until she sat patiently incubating them for 14 days. All but one egg hatched and both parents continually fed the little chicks until finally they all successfully fledged from the nest this week. Nature is incredible!
