Due to the weather forecast and limited pumpkin supply, we have decided to close until Saturday 24th.

We will reopen at 10am on Saturday so come and see us then!

🎃 As you may have seen on many other PYO patches, the summer drought has done a number on the growth of the pumpkins and we are significantly down on numbers

🎃 This means we are running a smaller event than the last couple of years.

☕️ The coffee box will be open serving light refreshments

🌽 A 'corn'er of the Maize Maze will be open, £3 entry per person.

🚜 Giant Tic Tac Toe, Cornholes, and pedal tractors to keep you entertained at the patch

🐶 Bring your pooches for an afternoon out! Just make sure they're on a non-extendable lead and clear up after them!

And just like that another maize maze season is over. It’s been a busy week cropping the harvest.

Thank you to every person who visited this year….every family who got lost (and found their way), every laugh at the game boards, every moment taking in the South Downs views from our vantage point. This is what makes a working farm in East Sussex special: we grow the maize, we build the maze, and then we get to watch families create memories in it.

That’s the whole point.

If you visited this summer, thank you. If you meant to and didn’t make it, there’s always next year 😉

The forage harvester has arrived. The maize you walked through this summer will be harvested for the cows…tomorrow is where the adventure ends. Brecon’s been doing the pre-harvest checks all morning. 🚜

Today is the last day the maze is open, 10am–5pm, last entry 3pm. If you’re coming one final time, we’ll see you there.

On the horizon 🎃

Pick Your Own Pumpkins returns to South Farm this October - pumpkin picking near Lewes, in the heart of the South Downs, with plenty of varieties, plenty of sizes, and plenty of muddy wellies.

The tiny seedlings we posted about back in June are now proper pumpkins growing in the ground. By mid-October, the field looks exactly like this — orange, muddy, and full of families finding the one.

Here’s the plan:

🎃 Lots of varieties and sizes of pumpkins and squashes, from £1 upwards depending on size
🎃 Wellies recommended (the field gets muddy)
🎃 Dogs welcome on a lead, free parking on site
