One year ago today, Freya and Ivy’s Sunrise Caravan opened its doors. A whole year. Wow.
Freya and Ivy are my two daughters, who we devotedly do everything for. We went to Skegness for what we thought would be our “last time” but instead, we decided on a long life commitment to our little caravan and that definitely wasn’t our last time! We were up and down enjoying every minute of it before eventually turning it into your home away from home too. I had my fears. I think as an owner, especially when renting it out, that’s completely normal. My biggest fear was having no platform, no interaction and, ultimately, no bookings.
We genuinely never imagined it would grow the way it has.
The caravan hasn’t had any abuse apart from once or twice from the same person, but apart from that, you have all respected it as if it were your own. And for that, we cannot thank you enough.
We wanted to do so much more with it this year, but for some reason, 2026 had other plans for us.It started by taking our home away from us after a house fire in the kitchen in January. For six months of pure heartache, we lived out of boxes in a hotel, trying to keep everything together and wondering when we would finally be able to go home
Then, just a week after moving back home in June, we lost our beautiful baby boy. He was sadly born sleeping.
There are no words to explain the pain of losing a child, but somehow, we held everything together. We made sure Freya and Ivy didn’t have to carry the sadness we were carrying. Instead, we lifted each other up, held each other close and soldiered our way through one of the hardest years of our lives.
And throughout all of that, our little caravan was still there. A place to escape. A place filled with memories. A place that started as something for our family and became something that we could share with so many other families too.
The summer season has now ended, which means our very first summer with you has officially passed.
And honestly… what a summer it has been.
We’ve watched families arrive excited, make memories, enjoy their holidays and then sadly leave again. We’ve had returning guests, recommendations, lovely messages, photographs and so much support. Every booking has meant more to us than you probably realise.
So, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
Thank you for choosing Freya and Ivy’s Sunrise Caravan.
Thank you for trusting us with your family holidays.
Thank you for looking after our little home.
Thank you for recommending us.
Thank you for sharing our posts.
Thank you for every kind message.
And thank you for helping us turn what started as a little dream for our girls into something so much bigger.
Here’s to year two.
More memories, more families, more laughter, more holidays and hopefully a much kinder year for our little family.
Freya and Ivy’s Sunrise Caravan one whole year.
And we’re only just getting started.
