🍂 Summer fades into autumn… you know what that means.
The front starts to settle. Still plenty going on, still people out on the prom making the most of the light, but the edge has come off it. You notice it in little ways. Shorter queues. A table free at teatime. The big wheel turning for a handful of people instead of a crowd.
And we think this is when Llandudno is at its best.
The bay does its finest work now. Those still mornings where the sea doesn't move at all and the Great Orme vanishes into the cloud. A shower blowing in off the Irish Sea and leaving a rainbow hanging over the water, just like that. And the sunsets - the whole of the West Shore turns to a mirror for twenty minutes and then it's gone, so you have to be quick.
The goats are down off the Orme too, wandering about the streets as though they own the place. After a hundred and fifty years, we suppose they rather do. 🐐
Two miles of promenade from one Orme to the other, and a good deal more of it yours than there was in August. Our pier, voted Pier of the Year last year, lit up every evening. Venue Cymru busy down at the far end, and a lovely walk along the front to get there.
Inside, nothing much changes at all. Fourteen rooms, adults only, breakfast with the bay right there in front of you, and somewhere warm to come back to when you've been up on the Orme a good while longer than you intended. ☕
Two nights from £154 for two, with dinner for two on one night at The Abode or WU'S. October right through to March.
Autumn on the North Parade 🤍
