Our 10 set of TLS rehoused Canon FD's are now available for hire 👋
These lenses are among the few genuinely vintage optics capable of covering full frame sensors. Created for still photography, they were not suitable for cinema use in their standard form. TLS addressed this by completely rehousing the lenses, transforming them into practical tools for filmmakers. The result is a more accessible alternative to the Canon K-35 series, while also expanding the available focal length options beyond the relatively limited K-35 lineup.
As part of the rehousing process, TLS incorporates a circular iris with 14 to 16 blades, depending on the lens. This design produces consistently smooth, rounded bokeh across all aperture settings, enhancing the overall cinematic character and aligning visually with the look of the Canon K-35 lenses. The new housing also features a non linear cam focus system applied across the full range, including lenses with floating elements, improving focus control and usability. Our 10 set includes:
