Antigua remains an SJ Villas favourite, and at the tip of Reeds Point sits this beautifully decorated home, with sweeping views across the sea towards St Kitts and Nevis.

Each bedroom suite has been elegantly designed to make the most of the sea views. Below the house, an infinity pool leads down to a peaceful platform, perfect for morning yoga or an evening drink.

What we love most is the balance of privacy and location. Jolly Harbour Beach is just a four-minute walk away, where staff can arrange parasols for a day by the sea. Val d’Isère: The skiing gets you here. This is what makes you stay ➡️

The first lift is worth getting up for in Val d’Isère. With neighbouring Tignes, it shares the vast Espace Killy, where steep couloirs, demanding moguls and black runs give accomplished skiers plenty to get their teeth into.

The snow may draw you in; the skiing is what brings you back every year…

By lunchtime, the focus shifts. A long Savoyard lunch on the mountain has its merits, though it pays to leave room for dinner. The village has everything from traditional favourites to Michelin-starred tables, but for those staying in a luxury chalet, some of the best lunches may be the ones spent at home, with a private chef taking care of dinner.

Après-ski is part of the social fabric here, and there are nights when it would be a shame not to join in. But Val d’Isère doesn’t demand it. After a full day on the mountain, slipping into the pool or hot tub, opening a bottle back at the chalet and settling in for dinner can be every bit as appealing.

That balance is part of the draw: first lifts and long lunches, lively evenings when the mood takes you, and quieter nights when the chalet is exactly where you want to be.

Megève: An Alpine Classic

Megève has never needed to make much noise. Chic Parisians and old French families have been coming here for generations, drawn as much by the village as by the skiing.

A good lunch, a browse through the boutiques, a coffee that turns into another: this is a place where a day off the slopes is a day well spent.

The chalet suits that rhythm. Children have their own bedroom and play area, while anyone leaving their skis at home has plenty to keep them occupied, both in-house and in the village, a short walk away.

There’s a driver on hand for the return journey, too, particularly useful when a little shopping becomes rather a lot❄️
