Our students got to explore one of London’s most iconic stadiums — the home of Arsenal FC. Walking through the players’ tunnel, standing on the edge of the pitch, seeing the trophies up close... this is what learning English in London really looks like.

British food has a reputation. But London's food scene will genuinely surprise your child. 🇬🇧🍽️

Here's what they'll actually encounter — and what it all means:

🥔 Jacket potato
A baked potato with fillings. Cheese, beans, tuna. A British lunch staple.

🥧 Pasty
A pastry filled with meat and vegetables. Originally from Cornwall. Eaten by hand, no cutlery needed.

🍵 A proper cuppa
A cup of tea. Milk goes in after (or before — this is a genuine debate). Offered constantly.

🍮 Pudding
Does not mean pudding. Means dessert. Any dessert. "What's for pudding?" = What's for dessert?

🍟 Chips vs crisps
Chips = thick-cut fries. Crisps = what Americans call chips. Do not mix these up.

🫘 Beans on toast
Exactly what it sounds like. Beloved. Non-negotiable part of British food culture.
