The American Bar at The Stafford London is an institution in its own right where every available wall and surface is crammed with an intriguing collection of artefacts, knick-knacks and signed celebrity photographs donated by patrons and guests over the years. Overseen by head barman Benoit Provost, The American Bar is open daily from 8am until 11pm. Join us for a light breakfast, enjoy an alfresco lunch in the private cobbled courtyard, or relax with a signature cocktail and soak up the history.

Making the most of the last of the summer sun.

From Ch*****ne on the rooftop and Veuve Clicquot in the courtyard, to Fruttini and Sunset Hour as the afternoon turns to evening, summer at The American Bar has given us plenty of reasons to stay outside a little longer.

With the final week of August upon us, we’re making the most of every last moment.

There’s history on every wall of The American Bar.

From police patches collected from across the United States to decades of caps, ties, pennants and mementoes left behind by guests, every piece has a story — and together they’ve become part of ours.

Take a closer look next time you visit. There’s always something you haven’t noticed before.

Today we raise a glass to the Martini.

For generations, this iconic cocktail has been a fixture of great bars around the world. As we celebrate National Martini Day today and World Martini Day tomorrow, we’ll be marking the occasion at The American Bar.

Classic, elegant and always worth returning to. 🍸

We’ve spoken about the Paloma a lot lately… now it’s time to show you how we make it.

With London hitting 30 degrees, Luigi, our Head Bartender, takes things out into the courtyard to make one of his favourite cocktails for a hot day.

Tequila, grapefruit, lime and plenty of ice — crisp, refreshing and best enjoyed in the sunshine at The American Bar.

20/05/2026

The sun’s out, the courtyard’s open, and London’s looking very good this week.

From morning coffee to late afternoon cocktails, The American Bar courtyard is the perfect place to spend a few hours in the sun.

With warmer days ahead, we’ll save you a seat.
