Today marks the beginning of our Silly Hats of Christmas!

Every Thursday between now and Christmas Eve we’ll be sharing a little festive cheer courtesy of our wonderful team, who have very kindly agreed to don some rather fabulous hats.

There may even be a giveaway or two along the way…

We hope it brings a smile to your face. First up, a reindeer on reception duty 🛎️

The clocks have turned, the evenings are drawing in, and there’s a rather mysterious air about The Petersham.

Perhaps it’s the winding staircases, the quiet corridors or the old portraits keeping a watchful eye on things.

And was that someone we saw passing by?

There’s always been a little magic within these walls. Come and see for yourself.

A pudding with quite the following.

For 48 years, our pre-match Rugby Lunches have been a Richmond tradition, welcoming rugby enthusiasts and some of the game’s great players along the way.

And, of course, there’s our famous steamed Steak & Kidney Pudding. A very good reason to arrive hungry.

Join us for lunch before heading to Twickenham.

A room with a view. (Just a swipe away.)

Soft autumn light, freshly made beds and Petersham Meadow just beyond the window.

Don your wellies for a walk along the river, or wander into Richmond for a spot of shopping. Then back to a comfortable bed and a proper cup of tea.

Good news! We’re now serving dinner on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, too.

And if you needed any more convincing, here’s 14 seconds of our rather lovely sauce bordelaise...

Here at The Petersham, we rather like leaning into a rainy day.

A chance to browse the bookshelves, marvel at our famous staircase and settle in for something delicious from the kitchen, all while watching the rain sweep across the Thames Valley.

An Afternoon Affair

Afternoon tea at The Petersham is a rather lovely excuse to settle in and let the afternoon slowly unfold.

A tiered stand of freshly prepared finger sandwiches, warm scones with clotted cream and preserves, and an assortment of delicate cakes and pastries. All accompanied by a pot of tea, or perhaps a glass of something sparkling 🥂

A little hint of what’s to come…

We know it’s only October, but behind the scenes at The Petersham Christmas is beginning to take shape.

From 18 November, our restaurant will be dressed for the season — festive lunches overlooking the Thames, candlelit dinners and a little guaranteed snowfall every day. You may even spot Father Christmas along the way…

For now, consider this a little peek through the doors. Bookings for our Festive Restaurant are now open via the link in our bio.

Autumn is here 🍂

The trees along the Thames are beginning to turn, mornings have a little more chill to them and the fabulous view from our restaurant is slowly shifting from green to gold.

Here at The Petersham, autumn calls for something seasonal from the kitchen, a room with a view and, after a walk along the river, a cosy drink from the bar.

Perhaps our favourite time of year to be here.
