Remembering the wonderful Sir Patrick Stewart.

From his unforgettable portrayal of Captain Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek to his extraordinary work on stage with the Royal Shakespeare Company, Sir Patrick brought warmth, wisdom and humanity to everything he did.

But beyond his remarkable career was a man who used his voice to make a difference. A passionate advocate for survivors of domestic abuse, a champion of human rights and a lifelong supporter of the arts, he reminded us that kindness, compassion and standing up for others matter just as much as the stories we tell.

His work inspired generations, and the characters he brought to life will continue to remind us of the importance of courage, understanding and hope.

A remarkable talent, and a remarkable legacy.

👻🦇 Happy Halloween from Looe! 👻🦇

Did you know that Looe Island has its own ghost stories?

Today, the island is a peaceful nature reserve cared for by the Cornwall Wildlife Trust, but its past is full of fascinating tales. Long before the island was bequeathed to the Trust by Evelyn "Attie" Atkins and Roselyn "Babs" Atkins, it was associated with free traders and smuggling families who are said to have used the island as a place to hide contraband until it could be brought ashore.

Over the years, stories have emerged of a mysterious gentleman said to have walked through walls, as well as unexplained blue-tinted lights appearing around the island at night.

These are just some of the tales featured in Haunted Harbour: The Looe Ghost Guide by Jonathan Boakes.
