Do you love a bit of history?

Enjoy a walk around a castle or a ruin?

There are some great castles to visit here in Suffolk

Framingham 12th century fortress connected to Mary Tudor and more recently famous for being Ed Sheeran's "Castle on a hill"

Orford Castle Famous for it's groundbreaking 18 sided polygonal keep.

Bungay Castle Built by Baron Bigod who now has a famous local cheese named after him.

If you like a ruin you can walk to Burgh Castle as part of the Angles Way.

Best of all, all these castles allow dogs so they can enjoy the adventure too.

This weekend the RNSYC Squib yacht race was held in Lowestoft a colourful sight just off the coast.
Another reason to visit this beautiful place.

A beautiful morning on the marshes.

No need to add music to this video. The birds gave us a soundtrack all of their own.

We are so lucky that this is just a few minutes walk from the cottage.

Our most recent guests absolutely made the most of their stay with us visiting Orford for the castle, Southwold, Thorpeness to see the house in the sky, they visited the transport museum in Carlton Colville, they took a cruise trip along the Broads, hired a boat from Beccles and sailed down the river Wavemey. They even made a special trip to Sutton Hoo as they love history ( they did say that unless you really want to go it may be one to miss I have included a picture of it to save you the trouble. It's the mound of grass.)

All of this was dog friendly I have included a picture of their dog just because he is so cute!

We loved to hear they didn't realise how beautiful and special Suffolk is, we couldn't agree more and love to share it with our guests

During our walks around the marshes recently we have been watching a swan on her nest, warming eggs.

Today we walked past and saw she had cygnets!
