If you missed our news last week, we were featured in The Guardian! But the backstory of how it happened is the bit we're most proud of. 📰
Back in the spring, journalist Kirsten Amor booked a pitch and came to stay with us privately with her husband. She paid for her stay just like any other regular camper. She loved the valley so much that she went on to pitch the story directly to her travel editor.
The piece looks at Wray Valley Camping and our location right beside one of Britain's last remaining fragments of temperate rainforest here on Dartmoor—which was officially designated a Devon County Wildlife Site (CWS) earlier this year.
For the last seven years, we’ve been trying to show that low-impact tourism and serious environmental conservation can work together. Getting this kind of recognition from someone who experienced the site simply as a guest means an awful lot to us.
