Father's day is next Sunday 21st June, and if you are stuck on what to get, why not treat him to a night at Herons Park Campsite?

For anyone booking to stay the night of Saturday 20th June, we will throw in late check out free of charge. That means you can take your time, have a slow morning, or get a spot of fishing in before heading home. What a great way to spend Fathers Day!

If you think that gorgeous sunsets, fishing, fire pits and star gazing sounds better than socks (again!), book a Fathers Day stay online at www.heronspark.com, or call us on 07585316316

Pitches start from £24 for 2 adults, non electric, cheaper than a meal out! A great value way to treat that special person 🥾🎣🏕

This article talks about the 10 best beaches in Kent, and we are not surprised to see the gorgeous Dungeness Shingle Head make the list.

We think Dungeness is one of the most interesting parts of coastline in the country, but don't take our word for it! Visiting Dungeness is easy from Herons Park Campsite, and can be done by a 10 minute drive or a lovely long walk through the Kent countryside.

Our wardens recommend planning for a full day out, walking across Dengemarsh beach to Dungeness, taking in the wooden huts and boardwalks, plus the imposing lighthouse, before popping in to the amazing The Pilot Inn for some fish and chips for lunch. Next head back to the campsite via the Dungeness National Nature Reserve, or via the Sound Mirrors in Greatstone if you want to include some impressive WW2 history in your day out.

It's a long but interesting walk with gorgeous coastal views and interesting sights along the way, so make sure you bring your walking boots and binoculars.

Camping is perfect for making new friends, making memories and enjoying nature 😍

We are lucky at Herons Park Campsite to have so many brilliant places to visit on our doorstep!

This week the spotlight is on Rye, only a short drive away from our site in Lydd. You can even get the bus from Lydd High Street!

Rye is a gorgeous medieval town with cobbled streets and picturesque old buildings. The most famous place to eat there is The Mermaid Inn, one of the oldest and most historic pubs in Britain, which is rumoured to be haunted and to have a long history with smugglers. Some more modern guests include Johnny Depp, Pierce Brosnan and Charlie Chaplin.

We also love the Castle, which is an affordable way to spend the afternoon at only £5 per adult, and free for children.

When you have finished exploring, check out the many shops and eateries, including Knoops by the Landgate, which does the best chocolate milkshakes we have ever tried.

If you are looking to explore the South East of Britain, Herons Park Campsite is the perfect base. Call us on 07585316316 or head to our website www.heronspark.com for more information and to book.

Top marks if anyone spots our warden Lauren enjoying a drink in the Mermaid beer garden, all for research of course! 😉

One of our lovely campers had a very successful afternoon fishing our beautiful lake, netting this 24 pound carp. Our lake is stocked with carp up to the mid 30s, plus other species like tench, rudd, roach and eel. The perfect way to spend time while camping!

👀🫶 💖 We’re supporting “Bids for Brave Maya”, an online charity auction created to help raise vital funds for 12-year-old Maya from Hythe, who has been bravely fighting neuroblastoma, a rare and aggressive childhood cancer, since she was just three years old. Maya is now receiving palliative chemotherapy, and has undergone years of intensive treatment, including multiple rounds of chemotherapy, a stem cell transplant, and clinical trials both here in the UK and in the US.
Despite countless challenges and recent relapses, she continues to inspire everyone who meets her with her courage and radiant smile.
To help ease the financial strain of Maya’s ongoing treatment and hospital travel , and to give her family time and stability during this unimaginably difficult journey.

Maya and her family are facing a very tough season with frequent hospital visits and rising household costs. This auction brings our community together to lift some of that weight. Bid on wonderful prizes from generous local businesses and every pound will help with bills, travel to hospital, and th...
