Meet Lukas & Byrony ❤️

🇩🇪 Lukas is originally from Constance, Germany
🌿 Byrony is from Bideford in North Devon
🎓 They met at Bristol University
💒 Recently married in Combe Martin
🇸🇬 And now live in Singapore

After the family wedding celebrations, they came to Highcliffe House for a few relaxing days on Exmoor National Park with Lukas’s parents. 🥂💚

🍂 With just over two weeks left of our 2026 season before we close on 1 November, there’s still time for a short autumn break before the Christmas rush begins.

🍂✨ HELLO OCTOBER ✨🍂

And just like that, October has arrived at Highcliffe House… our final four weeks of the 2026 season. 🧡🏡

We love this time of year on Exmoor National Park. The mornings feel fresher 🍁, the light gets softer ✨, the colours begin to turn 🍂 and everything feels just a little more peaceful. 🌿

Head out to the Valley of Rocks 🥾, wander through Watersmeet 🌳, take the coast road 🚗🌊 or simply follow your nose across the moors.

Then come back to Highcliffe, kick off the boots 👢, pour a drink 🍷 and settle into the Drawing Room while the light fades over Lynmouth. 🌅🧡

Wake the next morning to sea views 🌊, fresh coffee ☕ and our award-winning à la carte breakfast waiting downstairs. 🍳🥐

That’s October at Highcliffe. 🍂✨

🥂✨ 46 YEARS OF YES ✨🥂

Tonight at Highcliffe House we’re celebrating something rather special… 46 years of marriage for Terry & Rosemary from Nottinghamshire. ❤️💍

They’re spending the week with us on Exmoor National Park and have already been making the most of it, with visits to beautiful Arlington Court - National Trust and Dunster Castle and Watermill— two wonderful days out, both an easy drive from Highcliffe House.🏰🌿🚗

But tonight is for them. 🥂

Ch*****ne in the Drawing Room first 🍾✨, then a gentle stroll into Lynton for dinner at The Oak Room
— one of our guests’ favourites and just five minutes away. 🍽️❤️

These are the moments we love at Highcliffe. Not just stays, but birthdays, anniversaries, honeymoons, reunions and those little milestones that deserve to feel special. 💕✨

So here’s to Terry & Rosemary — 46 years, still celebrating, still travelling, still making memories together. 🥂❤️

🥓🔪 BUTCHER TESTED. A CUT ABOVE. 😄👏

Meet Steve & Sue from Sherfield-on-Loddon 👋. Steve has spent 50 years as a butcher — so when breakfast arrived at Highcliffe House the bacon and sausages were facing a proper expert. 😂🥓🌭

His verdict?

“The best breakfast I’ve had away for years. Superb dry-cured bacon, and the sausages tasted so good and were cooked perfectly.”

We’ll take that. ✅🙌

And we’ll happily share the praise with our supplier friends at Ivan Clarke's Butchers in 🥓🤝. Supporting excellent local producers has always mattered to us — and as proud Taste of the West members, we were delighted to win in 2026 too. 🏆✨

🍂🚗 A CLASSIC ARRIVAL

With six weeks left of our #2026 season, we’ve had some rather fabulous motors roll up at Highcliffe — from to beautiful classics like this gorgeous TR3A. ❤️

A proper roadster, made for roads with character — and Exmoor National Park has those. Winding valleys, open moorland, coastal views… then one final climb up Sinai Hill before easing into our free parking at Highcliffe House. 🏡

And now autumn is beginning to arrive. 🍁 The light is softer, the air a little chillier and the landscape is slowly changing colour.

Highcliffe now feels a little more autumnal too — warmer tones, candles, seasonal touches and, stylish of course, a subtle nod to . 🎃🕯️🍂

Then breakfast… ☕️🍳
Warm, generous and nourishing before stepping out into that crisp air — the sort of morning that makes you want to pull on a coat, breathe deeply and go exploring.

Autumn is officially launched at Highcliffe House… and who better to do the honours than our fabulous regulars, Sue & Andy! 🧡🍁📸

They’ve been coming to Highcliffe since long before we arrived and return every single year — often twice a season — usually before or after another favourite walking adventure in . 🥾🌿🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️

They walk. They travel. They take beautiful photographs. They publish travel books. 📚📷🌍 They hike and explore ’s great National Parks 🇺🇸🏞️ and somehow, year after year, Exmoor National Park and Highcliffe keep calling them back. 🌊🍂❤️

That spirit of adventure, curiosity and sheer joie de vivre rather sums up what we’re all about. ✨🥂
