Most people automatically look at August when planning a family break.

But June and July can actually be one of the nicest times to visit Mablethorpe.

The beaches are quieter.

The attractions are less crowded.

And you can still enjoy everything the coast has to offer before the school summer holidays begin.

British seaside weather really does keep you guessing.

You can come prepared with sun cream, sunglasses and plans for a full beach day…

…and end up buying a hoodie on the promenade by lunchtime.

Then an hour later everybody’s back eating ice cream in the sunshine again like nothing happened.

To be fair, it wouldn’t really feel like a proper British seaside holiday without at least one conversation about the weather.

Some people come for the beach. Others come just to slow down a bit.

One thing that’s nice about Mablethorpe is you can make the holiday whatever you want it to be.

Busy days out.
Quiet beach walks.
Fish and chips on the promenade.
Or just sitting outside with a book and a cup of tea.

A lot of guests just enjoy having a change of scenery for a few days.

And honestly, sometimes that’s enough.

It won’t be long before summer’s in full swing.

You can already feel Mablethorpe getting busier when the weather’s nice.

The promenade starts filling up, people are sat outside with ice creams and suddenly everybody’s talking about holidays again.

There's something comforting about a traditional seaside town.

Mablethorpe hasn't tried to be something it's not.
Still the same arcades.
Still the fish and chips.
Still the donkeys on the sand.
Still the ice cream in the wind.

If you grew up coming here, it still feels exactly like it should. And if you fancy a few quiet days by the sea, the chalets are a lovely base. No rush, no fuss.

Midweek breaks are underrated.

A lot of people automatically look at weekends, but midweek by the coast can actually be lovely.

Traffic’s usually easier.
The promenade feels calmer.
And everything just feels a bit more relaxed.

Especially this time of year before schools break up.

The best seaside days are usually the simple ones.

You don’t always remember the expensive bits of a holiday.

Usually it’s:
• fish and chips on the promenade
• sandy shoes left by the door
• a cup of tea outside in the evening
• hearing the sea in the distance
• ice cream before dinner because you’re on holiday

That’s the sort of thing people come to Mablethorpe for.

And honestly, it’s probably why people keep returning year after year.

One of the nicest things about Mablethorpe is that you can do as much or as little as you want.

Some people are out all day.

Others are happy with a walk along the beach, fish and chips and being back relaxing before tea time.

That’s the good thing about a seaside break here. There’s no pressure to rush around doing everything.

Especially before the school holidays start properly.
