Yes, these really were found in green waste 😮

Bottles, plastic bags, clothing and other household waste are among the items our green waste processors are having to remove from material collected in East Lindsey.

Contamination has a real impact. It takes additional time and money to remove, can affect the quality of the compost produced and some items can damage processing equipment.

Please help keep our green waste collections clean. Only natural garden material should go in your green waste bin.

🌱 If it didn't grow in your garden, it doesn't go in your green waste bin - www.e-lindsey.gov.uk/whatbin

Used in the garden? That doesn't necessarily make it green waste

Plant pots, compost bags, garden netting, string, hosepipes, tools, gloves and artificial plants might all be associated with gardening – but they don't belong in your green waste bin.

Green waste collections are for natural plant material that can be composted.

Think:
🌿 Plants
🍂 Leaves
🌱 Weeds
🌾 Grass cuttings
✂️ Hedge trimmings
🪵 Small twigs and branches

A useful rule of thumb is: if it didn't grow in your garden, don't put it in your green waste bin - www.e-lindsey.gov.uk/whatbin
