⚠️ Wildlife Notice ⚠️
We’ve been made aware of several adder sightings along the sea wall, particularly on the left hand side stretch ( heading towards Tollesbury) as you head off the Osea Road towards the Osea Island causeway.
They have been seen sunbathing around the seawall, so please take extra care when walking this route and keep dogs under close control.
Adders are the UK’s only venomous snake, but are generally shy and will usually avoid people if left undisturbed. If you do spot one, please give it plenty of space.
They can be identified by their distinctive dark zig-zag pattern along the back. Males tend to be silvery-grey, while females are often more light or reddish-brown, both with a red eye.
Please remain vigilant and respect local wildlife while enjoying the area. 🐍
