The Wheel of Fellowship Lodge 9016 had their Installation meeting at Chelmsford instead of Maldon due to that there were 72 who attended the meeting.

As the newly installed Master, and our only Lodge founder W. Bro. Andy Mapperson is very active in the Province of Staffordshire there were 15 Brethren who came down from Staffordshire including their VW Bro. David Thomas the Deputy Provincial Grand Master to support him on this very special occasion. Not only did he receive his 50-year certificate from W. Bro. Philip Lovelock APGM but he also presented W. Bro. Andy with a field promotion of Past Provincial Senior Grand Warden on behalf of the RW Bro. Paul William Tarrant the PGM.

During the ceremony Bro. Stephen Nunn presented us with an illustrated talk of the History of the Wheel of Fellowship Lodge from its consecration in Chelmsford to now in Maldon.

After, we had fine dining in the County Hotel, where everyone enjoyed the evening.

We cannot wait to celebrate the Lodges 45 years, next year which will be held in Chelmsford again.

Historic Status of the Chapter

The Lion & Lamb Chapter 192, notable for its low chapter number, is recognised as one of the oldest Chapters in London. This longstanding heritage is a source of pride for its members and contributes to the chapter’s vibrant community.

Installation Convocation and New Member

On Thursday, 5th February, the Chapter held its Installation convocation at Freemasons Hall. During this significant event, the Chapter was pleased to welcome a new joining member who travelled all the way from Wales, further enriching the Chapter’s diversity and fellowship.

Dining and Fellowship

Following the ceremony, members dined together in one of the Board Rooms at Freemasons Hall. The companions commented on the excellent quality of both the food and the service, which enhanced the convivial atmosphere of the evening.

Chapter Spirit and Invitation

All companions reported having thoroughly enjoyed the evening and returned home in high spirits. The Lion & Lamb Chapter 192 is clearly a thriving and happy Chapter. If you are interested in joining or would like to attend as a guest, you are warmly encouraged to make contact—you will be welcomed by all.

Mr Tyler Jason Minot was initiated into Freemasonry at last night’s ceremony at the Wheel of Fellowship Lodge 9016.
On his left is Essex Assistant Provincial Grand Master Martin Howse and Worshipful Master Ian Gager on his right.

The celebration included the Rev. Martin Howse, Assistant Provincial Grand Master, who blessed the Wheel of Fellowship Lodge for their friendship and kindness

He went on to explain the Masonic virtues for the Teddies for Loving Care (TLC) to commemorate their special year.
TLC, launched by Essex Freemasons in 2001, now provides about 20,000-24,000 Teddies in Essex each year to hospital A&E departments in Southend, Basildon, Harlow, Chelmsford, Redbridge, Havering & Leytonstone together with five Walk-in/Minor Injury Centres in Essex, the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance and the NHS Child Death Review Team which adds up in total, since the charity started to some 500,000.

He went on to explain that the charity has now expanded beyond the borders of Essex and globally the total passed ‘3.5 million’ in 2022. Teddies are given to children who have suffered a trauma, so the Appeal has not just given away 3.5 million Teddies, it has helped more than three and a half million children at a time of significant distress in their lives.

During the evening of Tuesday 21st May, local charities received much-need financial donations, thanks to the kindness of Maldon’s Freemasons. Invited to the Masonic Hall on Cromwell Hill that night were representatives from; Beckers Green Primary School (Braintree), The Maeldune Trust, Maldon Pioneers, Maldon Food Bank, Maldon Branch of the RNLI, the Royal Life Saving Society (Essex Branch), Farleigh Hospice, Helen Rollason Cancer Charity, Maldon Veterens Club and Community 360. The guests were made welcome by members of the various Maldon Lodges and Chapters, along with the Provincial Charity Steward of Essex and Maldon’s Mayor. Every year, Essex Freemasons alone raise and donate around £1 million to more than 700 different charities. The donations given on the evening was approximately £5000.
