Stunning B&B to explore the beautiful Peak District. Sheriff Lodge is an adults only peaceful haven. It is suited to all walks of life.

Having started as a cottage in 1740 and extended in 1908, Sheriff Lodge is now a five bedroomed bed and breakfast. All dietary needs are catered for including gluten free, vegetarian and vegan. The breakfast is sublime and will set you up well for the day ahead. Each order is prepared by locally sourced produce and homemade jams, marmalade, bread and Hollandaise sauce will tempt you. There are wal

ks close by as well as plenty of attractions for all ages and abilities. There are always vouchers to use for attractions such as Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Heights of Abraham etc. There is also a private sitting room for guest's use which provides local information, maps, brochures etc as well as magazines, books, games and is also licensed. The Lodge is in the more tranquil area of Matlock and restaurants and bars are within easy walking distance. Free onsite parking with EV charger.

🥾 Walks from the door! An increasing number of guests just want to park up for their stay and go for walks from the lodge. This is hefty to start with but worth it. Quiet, peaceful and very green at the moment 😁

🥾 We went to the very pretty village of Ashford in the Water to see their well dressings today and a wander around the village. One of the many lovely villages to visit nearby.

🙏 I’ve had a couple from Florida having a rest day before carrying on The Peak Way (155miles 👏), who gave me this lovely bouquet on their departure this morning. It smells delightful in the breakfast room.

🙏 I have had some really super guests in the last couple of weeks, they’ve certainly made up for some stinkers last month !!

🧁 Delightful German guests enjoying a quintessential English Afternoon Tea. They are having a superb time exploring English countryside, traditions, stately homes, English breakfast (well Derbyshire in my case). They’ve been here a few days now and love it all. Such a lovely couple 🥰

🥾 Ashover Rock and The Fabrik walk this morning. What a stunning place. Really interesting too, little tunnels so the Eastwood Grange inhabitants didn’t have to see ‘the public’, concrete where search lights were during WW2, land bequeathed by Miss Bassett (of All Sorts fame), Ashover spa now a private house and a straight road where the ropes were made. Great walk 🥾🐾
