As autumn breaks over the Derbyshire countryside, a charming stone holiday cottage rests peacefully among the rolling countryside. The first rays of the sunrise spill across the landscape, painting the sky in soft shades of peach, amber and rose, while dew glistens on the grass and fallen copper leaves scatter across the pathway 🍂

Inside a wood-burning fire waits to warm you after crisp autumn rambles. Outside, birdsong fills the still morning air, and the rising sun illuminates the countryside with a gentle glow.

It’s a place where time seems to slow, and where an autumn sunrise transforms an ordinary holiday morning into something quietly unforgettable 🍂

As the days grow shorter, the Old Chapel becomes a welcoming haven from the crisp countryside air. Picture exposed wooden beams, warm lighting soft throws and a crackling log burner. Outside dry-stone walls, ancient trees glow copper and amber and country lanes invite leisurely walks through the autumn countryside.

There is something magical about Derbyshire in autumn: the changing colours, the quiet footpaths, big skies and the sense of getting away from it all and your dog is welcome too🐾🌿

October had settled softly over the Old Chapel in Derbyshire. Our dog friendly cottage is just what you need.
The hills are dressed in russet bracken and fading green, while the trees glowed with copper, amber and gold. Below a thick blanket of mist lay between the hills, curling slowly around the stone walls and disappearing into the folds of the countryside.

The morning was quiet except for the occasional call of a distant bird and the soft rustle of leaves underfoot. Above the mist, the higher ridges stood dark and solemn against the pale grey sky, their outlines softened by the damp autumn air🍂

We have some availability after 7th November but don’t leave it too long!

Just for a moment the valley seemed suspended between earth and sky - a secret landscape revealed only in fragments as the October sun gradually warmed the mist and drew it away.

In October, my beautiful holiday cottage feels especially magical. Surrounded by the rich autumn colours of the Peak District, it’s the perfect place to slow down, breathe deeply and enjoy the changing season🍂

Outside, the landscape is painted in shades of russet, gold and copper, with crisp leaves underfoot and mist gently drifting gently across the valley on cool mornings. Inside the cottage is warm and welcoming - a cosy retreat after a day of exploring the picturesque villages of the Peak District and beautiful autumn walks 🍂

There’s something wonderful peaceful about October here, evenings spent relaxing in comfort, perhaps with a glass of w**e, a good book and the glow of soft lamps as the countryside darkens beyond the windows.

It’s a place to escape the everyday, reconnect with nature and savour the simple pleasures of a beautiful Derbyshire autumn.

We are dog friendly, so your four legged friend can come too🐾

After a day outdoors, come home to the cosy warmth of the cottage, settle in with a hot drink, curl up and watch the evening draw in.
